KFLA Addiction and Mental Health seeking applicants for board of directors

Addiction and Mental Health Services of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (AMHS-KFLA) is seeking to recruit members of the public interested in sitting on their board of directors.

Successful applicants will act in a collaborative governance capacity to lead the organization now and into the future.

“As an agency, we look forward to the exciting work ahead with our partners and new board of directors as we embark on this new journey,” Bruce Swan, supervisor at KFLA AMHS-KFLA said in a release. “Together we will work to support new initiatives and opportunities for collaboration to enhance the network of care in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington, and help us to achieve our organizational vision of a community where everyone has wellness, acceptance and a sense of belonging.”

KFLA Leadership is focused to build, alongside key care partners, an integrated system of mental health and addictions care across the region. Recruitment efforts will support formation of an experienced board of nine people that embrace this aim. With the recent announcement of the inception of the Frontenac, Lennox and Addington – Ontario Health Team (FLA-OHT), of which AMHS-KFLA is a proud contributing member, AMHS-KFLA is seeking to form collaborative policy governance which will oversee the integration of AMHS-KFLA within the overall system of care with four key areas of focus: improving the patient and caregiver experience, improving the health of populations, reducing the per capita cost of health care and improving the work life of providers.

Board members may come from partner and community organizations or the public at large; interested potential applicants are invited to review the application requirements and package located on the agency website (www.amhskfla.ca/board-of-directors) and express their interest no later than Dec. 11, 2020.
