I feel compelled to comment on the an article submitted by Jacqueline and Jim Wood, “Bart the lamb is a miracle on Storey Street”. (June 1, 2023)
My wife and I are very much animal lovers. The story on Bart definitely tugged on our heart strings and made me think. What Jacqueline and Jim did for this helpless lamb went above and beyond love.
We have all come across special needs people and animals. They are no different then ourselves and should not be treated any differently. We as human beings deserve that dignity and respect no matter who you are. Animals are no different. I read many years ago that Evel Knievel (the famous motorcycle stunt performer) once said and I quote, “You’re not a loser, if every time you get knocked down you try and get back up again”.
Words to live by! Maybe we should all learn a lesson from Bart the lamb. Never give Up! My wife and I have made a donation to the sanctuary that Bart now lives at, La Petite Fermette du mieux etre in Val D’or Quebec in Bart’s name. We hope to visit in the near future. Thank-you Jacqueline and Jim. You are truly angels!
