Greater Napanee residents who keep an eye to the sky Friday morning between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. can catch a glimpse of the famous Canadian Forces Snowbirds.

Flying in their signature nine-jet formation with trailing white smoke, the flyover, dubbed Operation INSPIRATION, will be part of an ongoing cross-county salute to Canadians doing their part to fight COVID-19.

A schedule released by the CF Snowbirds Facebook page shows the team will take off from Ottawa at 10:30 a.m. and land at CFB Trenton at 11:30 a.m. Their path will take them right over Greater Napanee.

The Snowbird’s official page encourages residents to watch the flyover from home while maintaining physical distancing protocols.

“The iconic Snowbirds have a special place in the hearts of many Canadians,” said Minister of National Defence Harjit S. Sajjan in a release. “We hope that their presence over Canadian cities and towns to acknowledge the hard work being done by Canadians in our grocery stores, our pharmacies, our hospitals and long-term care facilities lift up Canadians during these difficult times.”
