Hwy 401 is closed between Napanee and Odessa following the collision west bound between County Rd 6 and County Rd 5 (Palace Rd) (detour N on CR 6, W on CR 1, S on CR 18, S on CR5); east bound between County Rd 5 (Palace Rd) and County Rd 4 (detour S on CR 5, E on CR 2, N on CR 4).
Lennox and Addington OPP have put out the following release:
On August 30, 2021 at approximately 2 a.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP and other emergency crews responded to a single vehicle rollover collision on highway 401 westbound just west of the County Road 4 exit.
L&A County OPP and the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) are currently on scene investigating.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed and the Emergency Detour Route (EDR) was being used.
As of approximately 9 a.m. one lane of the west bound Highway 401 is now open to traffic.
As of 9:40 a.m. both east bound lanes were re-opened and the EDR is no longer in effect.

As a result of the collision, one occupant is deceased at the scene and the two other passengers were taken to hospital with injuries. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until notifications to family have been made. An update will be released at a later time.
