Holden’s hat trick, Vallier’s shutout leads U18 Stars to win over Norwood

The Napanee U18 Stars were full value for their effort in an 8-0 shutout of Norwood at the SPC. Jack Madden got the winning goal midway through the first. They would add five more in the second, and a couple in the third. Goal scorers were: Jayden Holden (three), Luc Amat (two), Dylan Kemp, and Zered Haller. Aiden Vallier stopped all shots on net. The U18’s have a strong 6-1-1 record in league action to date. Tweed will be in town Thursday at 9 p.m.

The U15 squad got their 12th win of the EOMHL season with two weekend victories. In Picadilly they prevailed, 4-2 over Frontenac. Callen Wilson would get the first of two in the opening minute. Wyatt Albright also scored in the first, but it was up to Ben Kerr to get the game winner in the dying seconds of the first. The second frame was scoreless before Wilson’s insurance tally in the third. Carter Cork was solid between the pipes for the Stars.

Sunday in Stirling, Jackson Godfrey earned a shutout in their 3-0 win. They got goals from the sticks of Brayden Hartwick and Wilson (two), scoring in each frame. This puts them solidly in the league lead in the Eastern Ontario League standings.

The U13 Stars were solid 5-2 winners at home to Brighton. In the first, Declan McGarvey opened the scoring in the waning moments of the first period. After Brighton tied things up, Liam Mulder’s shot from the point left a juicy rebound for Maddux Hartwick on the power play. Hartwick would add the winner coming out from behind the net. Keegan York slid one along the ice though the goalie’s pads, and Liam Mulder would tip one in off the crossbar to round out the scoring. Goalie Bauer Desveaux earned the win.

The Napanee Northfleet U-11’s woes continue with a loss in Madoc, on Saturday.
