For a second year in a row NDSS Golden Hawk long-distance runner Jack Gregory has established new KASSAA track and field record.
On Wednesday at Kingston’s CaraCo Field he ran the 1,500 m in a time of four minutes, eight seconds and 99 milliseconds, besting the previous best that was set back in 2004.
The record setting time was more than good enough to clinch first and qualify for EOSSAA.
In his Grade 9 season last May Gregory set records in the 800 m and 3,000 m.
Other NDSS Golden Hawks who clinched their spot in next week’s EOSSAA include Finlay Paul who finished second in Jr. girls 300 m hurdles, Gabriella Stacey who was second in novice girls 1,500 m, Angelina Geenevasen who was third in Jr. girls 200 m, Nathaniel Stacey who was third in novice boys 1,500 m and Lily Galloway who was fourth in novice girls discus.
