The host Napanee Express remain the last unbeaten team at the U20 Men’s Canadian Fast Pitch Championships after shellacking the Tavistock Athletics 10-1 in six innings on Friday evening.

Napanee struck early in the meeting of the unbeaten teams, scoring three times in their first at-bat. The Athletics responded in their half with a run. That was all Express starter Brad Barker would allow, tossing five scoreless to close out the game.

Napanee continued it’s steady offense output at the dish, scoring two in the third, two in the fifth and three more in the sixth. He finished with five strikeouts.

Ty Branchaud had three RBI, Joe Mick drove in a pair while Aiden Reddick had one.

Now 5-0, the Express have won three of those five via the mercy rule.

Napanee will look to wrap up a perfect round robin with two more games to go tomorrow. They start at 1 p.m. against the Rostock Braves. They close it out with a 7 p.m. match against Saskatchewan’s Rosebud Junior Royals.
