Hastings-Lennox Addington employers encouraged to take part in EmployerOne Survey

The Centre for Workforce Development in Belleville is conducting its annual EmployerOne Survey from now to Feb. 26 in Hastings, Prince Edward and Lennox & Addington Counties, and they need the participation of local businesses.

“There are direct benefits to businesses: the results provide essential data about local workforce needs that will allow Workforce Planning Boards to support businesses with the right types of skills development.” says Matt Caruana, project coordinator for Workforce Development. “You can reach out to me at 613-969-0720 or matt@cfwd.ca.”

Those who complete the survey will be eligible for one of eight $100 local shopping gift certificates, awarded weekly until February 26. A $250 “Shop Local” grand prize will be drawn from all completed survey responses sent in by Feb. 26.

“The survey results provide real, relevant data to local community planners: their solutions can help our businesses flourish. Also, doing the survey gives me the opportunity to plan ahead in my own business,” says Dale Hoard, owner of MicroAge Technology Solutions in Belleville.

Businesses owners are encouraged to fill out the survey. Responses are needed from all businesses small and large, including organizations, non-profits and charities. The survey takes about 10 minutes and is completely confidential.

This year, the Workforce Development Boards in Eastern Ontario have partnered to conduct the survey across all six board areas. They need help to obtain as many responses as possible from businesses and organizations across all industries. Through the completion of the survey, the boards can provide meaningful results locally as well as develop a clear understanding on workforce development across the 14 census divisions in Eastern Ontario.

These EmployerOne Survey results will be shared with the Ontario Government, educators, employment support agencies, economic developers and industry associations so that new programming accurately addresses occupational shortages, skills in demand and professional development requirements.
