Passed away, peacefully at The John M. Parrott Centre in Napanee. Son of Bert Grindrod (d. 1944) and Marjorie Pearce (nee Tubbs) (d. 2019) and stepson of Joseph Pearce (d. 2002). He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Jim was a master mechanic; avid fisherman and dog whisperer. He showed incredible inventiveness in making special tools to overcome many obstacles in life’s troubles. Our family wishes to thank Gerrie Story-Plaizier, for her special care giving. Jim spent the past 6 years in Napanee at the Riverine Independent Living and The John M. Parrott Centre. Special mention to the Staff of Maple Lane at The John M. Parrott Centre for their care and loving attention shown to Jim during his 8 month stay. He was truly happy there. Cremation has taken place. No funeral service is being arranged. A family burial service and celebration of Jim’s life will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Lennox and Addington County Hospital Foundation or the Ontario SPCA Lennox and Addington Branch.
