Greater Napanee’s Parade of Lights is officially green lit, to be held Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m.

The following is a press release from the Town of Greater Napanee

Following the Province of Ontario’s recent move to lift capacity limits for outdoor organized events, the Town of Greater Napanee is pleased to announce that Santa Claus is coming to Town for the annual Greater Napanee Parade of Lights.

The Parade of Lights, originally cancelled due to COVID-19 health restrictions, will now commence on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The town is sure that this beloved local event will bring holiday cheer to the community. “We’re very happy to announce that we are able to bring back the holiday spirit to our town by putting on our annual Parade of Lights for our residents,” states Deputy Mayor, Max Kaiser. “We encourage local businesses, organizations and community groups to show their community pride and get involved in this year’s Parade of Lights by entering their decorated floats for a night of fun.”

The town is currently accepting float registrations through its website. Local businesses, organizations and groups can fill out an online Parade of Lights Float Registration Form to participate in this year’s parade.

While the community is encouraged to come out for the Parade of Lights, KFL&A Public Health COVID-19 health and safety regulations will be in place for spectators. As per KFL&A Public Health Guidelines, masks/face coverings are required while in attendance at this outdoor organized event.

Spectators are welcome to bring their non-perishable food donations in support of the Salvation Army. Children can also bring their letters to Santa. Food donations and letters to Santa will be collected by volunteers along the parade route.

All Parade of Lights event information, including float registration, COVID-19 health and safety regulations and the parade route, is available on the ‘Events & Festivals’ page of the Town’s website, www.greaternapanee.com.

Parade inquires can be directed to Deputy Mayor Kaiser at mkaiser@greaternapanee.com or 613-561-2793.
