Greater Napanee staff working to remove large snowfall

Beaver Staff

With large quantities of snow fall and icy conditions over the last few days, and more to come in the near future, the Town of Greater Napanee’s Public Works Department is working as diligently as possible to remove snow and ice from main arteries, side roads and sidewalks within the municipality.

The town says their staff is giving precedence to the removal of excess snow in between weather events and is planning to remove a vast amount of snow from the downtown core during overnight hours throughout the week, as Mother Nature permits.

Residents can assist with snow removal on sidewalks or walkways in front of their homes but are asked to please not shovel the snow and ice into drainage ditches, as it can cause flooding.

The town apologizes for any inconvenience this weather may have caused and are asking for residents’ cooperation while town staff work maximum hours and explore every way to stay on top of the impending weather.
