Greater Napanee names Matthew Grant as CAO

Matthew Grant has been hired as Greater Napanee's next CAO.

The Town of Greater Napanee is pleased to announce that Matthew Grant will be joining the municipality as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Council members and staff from the Town of Greater Napanee would like to welcome Matthew and his wife Alison as they move to the community in the coming weeks. Grant will begin his new role on June 17, 2024.

Grant is a career public servant with a background in communications, government relations, community engagement, and media. Over the past 16 years he has served in senior roles in municipal and provincial governments and Canadian research universities in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Western University and a Master of Journalism from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Grant will be coming to Greater Napanee from Hamilton, Ontario, where he served as the City of Hamilton’s Director of Communications, performed Chief of Staff duties for the City Manager, and was a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

“I look forward to working with members of Council, the dedicated staff at the Town of Greater Napanee, and members of the public in the coming years,” said Grant. “I want to thank members of Council for the opportunity to serve the people of Greater Napanee and to contribute to the Town’s continued success”.
