Greater Napanee downgrades to partial burn ban

Due to favourable spring conditions, Greater Napanee Fire Services is downgrading the current “Total Burn Ban” to a “Partial Burn Ban” effective today.

A “Partial Burn Ban” will allow residents to light and maintain a campfire of no more than 60 cm in width by 60 cm in height, used for cooking, warmth and/ or recreational enjoyment. Open-Air burning is only permitted two hours before sunset until two hours after sunrise. Beginning April 26, this means that fires can be started at 6 p.m. and must be extinguished no later than 8 a.m.

An Open-Air Burning Permit is required for open-air burning in Greater Napanee. Open-Air Burning Permits can be obtained online through the Town’s website, www.greaternapanee.com, on the ‘Burn Bans, Permits & Open-Air Burning’ page. It is $15 for an open-air burning permit in Greater Napanee. Permits are valid for 365 calendar days from the day of purchase.
