Greater Napanee, Deseronto, Mohawks of Bay of Quinte partner to offer fixed bus route system connecting all three communities with Belleville

The Town of Deseronto and the Town of Greater Napanee will be partnering to provide a fixed route system through Deseronto Transit. This partnership has been made possible through funding from the Lennox & Addington Community Transportation Grant.

The transit system will begin a fixed route system as of Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024. The fixed route operates on a weekday only schedule from 5:25 a.m. – 7 p.m. The fixed route includes 10 stops in Napanee, four in Deseronto, two in Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, and five in the City of Belleville.

Individual tickets and monthly passes will be available for sale starting Jan. 3 at the Deseronto Town Hall located at 331 Main Street Deseronto. Tickets will be available for purchase within Greater Napanee starting Jan. 8 at the Strathcona Paper Centre (16 McPherson Drive) and the Town of Greater Napanee Municipal Administration Centre (99 Advance Avenue). This service is available to all residents, including users outside of Greater Napanee and Deseronto. This system offers affordable, reliable, and accessible public transportation.

Transit Fares:

  • $6.00 – one-way pass (within Greater Napanee)
  • $80.00 – month pass (within Greater Napanee)
  • $8.00 – one-way pass (Napanee to Deseronto)
  • $100.00 – monthly pass (Napanee to Deseronto)
  • $15.00 – one-way pass (Napanee to Belleville)
  • $175.00 – monthly pass (Napanee to Belleville)

A map of the fixed route is available for preview on our website and hard copies are available at the Strathcona Paper Centre and the Town of Greater Napanee Municipal Administration Centre. Any feedback can be submitted through the Town of Greater Napanee’s Report an Issue Form. Stops in Belleville include the Quinte Mall, JBS Foods, Belleville Bayview Mall, Belleville General Hospital and the Belleville Bus Depot.

Stops in Napanee will be at the SPC, Wal-Mart, No Frills, Metro, Camden Variety, 99 Advance Ave, Market Square, the Lenadco Complex, L&A County General Hospital and the corner of West and Baket Streets.

Additional stops, or changes to the route will be reviewed by the municipalities during the pilot program to ensure this service is meeting the needs of the communities.
