Great North Wrestling made its long awaited return to Greater Napanee on June 29 for the School’s Out Slam, held at the SPC.

The event featured a mix of former WWE and ECW super stars such as Angel Medina and René Duprée along with local favourites such as Napanee’s Harley Davison and the up and comers like The Black Dragon.

Before the first match, a 10 bell salute was held in honour of the late Leaping Lanny Poffo, a Canadian-American star in the WWF circuit in the 1980s and early ‘90s.

Once the matches got underway it was a full card of entertainment featuring jumps from the top ropes, interference when the referee wasn’t looking, displays of technical moves and showboating to get the crowd fired up from the ‘good guys’ and the heels.
