After two years of operation, the Friends of the Napanee River Watershed continue to engage local residents and landowners about the value of preserving the high quality of the river’s watershed.

On Saturday, March 23 the organization will welcome Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Mike Bossio to speak at the Stone Mills municipal hall in Centreville from 10-11:30 a.m.

Bossio will be presenting about recent federal funding for research projects on the Napanee watershed, Wilton Creek, and Hay Bay. A member of the federal government’s environment committee and the chair of the Liberals’ rural caucus, Bossio will also offer a perspective on key environmental issues facing the government as well as priorities for rural areas such as Internet improvements. Bossio will be concluding his presentation by taking questions posed by the audience.

The meeting will also offer interested parties a chance to learn more about the Friends group and its stewardship and conservation work.
