Friends of the Salmon River will host “Life in the Wet Lane – A Natural History of the Inhabitants of Waterways” starring Michael Runtz, on Monday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. This is an Online presentation via Zoom.
Michael Runtz is an award-winning Biology professor at Carleton University, an outstanding nature photographer, an interpretive naturalist in Algonquin Park, and he hosted the international TV series Wild by Nature.
Runtz will share his extensive experience with rivers and wetlands in relation to the Salmon River watershed. This will be a visual extravaganza exploring the natural history of many species in our varied waterways, including wetlands and headwaters.
His association with Algonquin Park spans nearly 50 years and includes working in the Park as an interpretive naturalist for 11 seasons. He authored and illustrated 14 natural history books including Algonquin Wild. He also teaches Natural History and Ornithology courses at Carleton University where more than 56,000 students have taken his courses.
