Friends of Napanee and Salmon Rivers to host online Winter Speaker Series

What do dragonflies, droughts and outdoor play have in common?

They are all events in an upcoming speaker series hosted by The Friends of Napanee River and Friends of Salmon River. The two community groups are teaming up to host the 2021 online Winter Speaker Series.

The goal is to keep their communities engaged and interested in nature. All events are free, via Zoom, and will be available on a YouTube link afterward. All events are on Tuesdays from 7-8 pm. Anyone interested in viewing them is asked to register ahead of each event.

First up on Jan. 26 is Mark Boone, senior hydrogeologist for Quinte Conservation, presenting Recent Droughts in Quinte: What can we do? The presentation will include the results of his research on the growing trend of droughts across the region, followed by a Q&A session. It will also feature lots of tips on how to conserve water. The Friends of Napanee River hosts this presentation as part of their Annual General Meeting.
