Fall Fibre Affair returns to Bath

Bath’s historic Fairfield-Gutzeit House and 1812 Lafarge Discovery Centre will once again be home to the village’s annual Fall Fibre Affair this weekend.

Returning for its 15th year, the event will feature alpaca products, rug-hooking, jewellery, felted wool wearables, knitted woven garments, woodworking, eco-printed silks, quilts, yarns and straight from the farm products. Guests will have a chance to buy directly from the artists and even watch them as they work on their latest creations.

“One really interesting thing we have this year is Purlin’ J’s Roving Yarn Company,” said Tracy Asselstine, one of the event organizers and weaving artist. “It’s a mobile yarn truck. She’s out of Kingston. She just pulls up in an old emergency vehicle, opens the front, opens the back and there’s the yarn shop.”

Last year was the best-attended event to date and this year figures to be even bigger with four new vendors confirmed. Refreshments will also be available with proceeds going to a local charity.

The Fall Fibre Affair runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, taking place at 341 Main St. in Bath. More information is available by searching the event’s Facebook page.
