Artists will be setting up outdoor shops across Greater Napanee on Oct. 28 as part of the 5th Annual Fall Crafters’ Road Show.
On that day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. shoppers can travel to the various participating locations throughout the community to explore one-of-a-kind handmade items.
“They will be at multiple locations across the Greater Napanee area and we will have directions to all of the locations available online but we will also have hard copies available at local businesses about a week in advance so that people can pick up a printed copy if they prefer,” said Lynda Carney of Against the Grain, who is once again organizing this year’s event with the help of Susan Tucker.
Vendors wanting to take part can still register from now until Sept. 8 at www.docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdm8e1tZKpRkhJy_JtDWgZxkLPbm74oVgNIKUO-_8P6DiYXAg/viewform. If successful, they will receive an email by Sept. 13 informing them they will be part of the event and listed on the map.
“(The vendors can be) artisans, makers and crafters that are local to us, folks that create things in their own homes and have experience with vendor shows, and just sort of little home based businesses, we’d love to be able to give them a platform to share their talents and the beautiful things that they make,” said Carney. “Anyone in our area who is a baker, or a crafter or an artisan is eligible to apply.”
The vendor fee to take part is $40, which will be donated to Morningstar Mission. Shoppers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Mission on that day as well, with drop off locations set up at several of the stops on the tour. They can also make monetary donations and a fundraising barbecue and bake sale will also be among the stops on the road show. Last year’s show saw 57 vendors take part with $3,000 raised for Morningstar.
