Express to host U12 Qualifier this Saturday

A pair of Napanee U12 Express teams will share hosting duties this Saturday in the first qualifying tournament seen at the Fairgrounds since 2019.

An Express boys team, coached by Dave Kerr, and a girls team coached by Bryan Brooks, will be joined by an entry from Kenmore and Havelock for the four-team field.

Kerr’s team includes Aiden Lollar, Hunter Brown, Austin Reynolds, Jaxon Roblin, Darren Snider, Colton Lockridge, Dawson Chalk, Ben Kerr, Brock Boutilier, William Babcock, Brock Alaver, Jacob Lyons and Brayden Hartwick. They’ll face off against Kenmore at 9 a.m.

Making up Brook’s team is Aleyah Beleza, Amaya Silva, Ava Garrison, Brynn Woodcock, Camryn Brooks, Gracie Thompson, Peyton Brooks, Rhea Hollingsworth, Sadie Baker, Sarah Difazio, Savannah Parks, Shayla Huyck and Shyann Whan. They too play at 9 a.m., taking on Havelock on the Robert Paul diamond.

The winners of each game will meet at 1 p.m. while the losers play at 3 p.m. The winners of the 1 p.m. game advance to the 7 p.m. finals while loser will face the winner of the 3 p.m. game with a chance to advance to the finals on the line.

The tournament will serve as seeding for the U12 Provincials in Drumbo which take place Aug. 14-15.

Saturday’s qualifier will be the first of a busy summer of tournaments hosted by Softball Napanee.

They’ll also be home of the U-10 Qualifier East, Aug. 7-8, the U14 Provincials, Aug. 14-15 and the U8-Qualifier East on Aug. 21.
