Sounds of the aluminum ‘ping’ of a bat and the snap of ball hitting a leather glove emanated from the Napanee Fairground diamonds this weekend.
Softball Napanee held tryouts for all ages, working on hitting, fielding and pitching drills in advance of the 2019 summer season. Coaches will now have some tough choices to make as they pare down their rosters.
The Napanee Express will field 14 competitive teams this year-six boys (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19) along with five girls (U10, U12, U16 and U19). Schedules are yet to be finalized, though league games are expected to start up within the next two weeks.
