Scott Chadwick helped the Greg Balsdon rink reach the second round of knockouts before they saw their quest to win the Ontario Tankard come to an end.
Chadwick, a graduate of the Napanee and District Curling Club, served as lead for the Cataraqui Curling Club team that went 2-3 at the tournament, held last week in Huntsville.
They bested Sebastien Robillard’s team 9-7 in the second knockout round before losing 9-7 to Mark Bice to end their tournament.
In the finals John Epping topped Glenn Howard 5-1 to claim the championship and clinch a spot in the 2018 Tim Horton’s Brier, which will take place in Regina, Sask.
Chadwick meanwhile will now turn his attention towards hosting a junior curling clinic Feb. 21 at the NDCC.
