KFLA Public Health reported eight new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, raising the number of active cases to 16.
A male in his 40s, female in her 30s, male under the age of 10, two females under the age of 10, a female in her 20s and a male in his 20s all tested positive with the contact tracing under investigation. A male in his 20s who was in close contact with a previous known case also tested positive.
The local health unit also declared an outbreak at Extendicare Kingston, a long-term care home located on Queen Mary Road in Kingston. The outbreak that had been declared at Trillium in Kingston is now over.
One previous case was listed as resolved.
