The host U20 Napanee Express held off a late rally attempt by the Rostock Braves to wrap up a 6-2 victory on Friday afternoon.
Napanee did most of its damage early with four runs in the first. Connor Brooks had a pair of RBI while Aiden Reddick drove in one. Rob Barker led the way with three hits.

Napanee held a 4-0 lead until the Braves got to starter Dylan Hehn for a run. Brooks took over from there, allowing just a run in the sixth, which made things interesting as the Braves trailed just 5-2 at the time. Napanee tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth for good measure and Brooks set the Braves down 1-2-3 in the seventh to seal the win.

Now 6-0 at the tournament, the Express have a chance to close out a perfect round robin this evening when they take on Saskatchewan’s Rosebud Junior Royals at 7 p.m. About a half hour prior to the game there will be a special ceremony honour members of the 1982 Napanee Legionnaires, the first Napanee team to win a national fast pitch title.
