Lennox and Addington OPP seized over 30 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of hydromorphone, weapons and drug paraphilia during a search warrant executed on Dundas Street Thursday morning.
Along with with charges relating to drug trafficking, a 34-year-old Napanee man was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm contrary to a probation order, possession of a prohibited device and carrying a concealed prohibited device. Among the weapons recovered was a bow and arrow, pistol and brass knuckles.
Also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking was a 24-year-old Napanee woman. Both are scheduled to appear in Napanee court on Sept. 10.
“We are unwilling to tolerate the victimization of our community through those that choose to pray on those suffering from addictions,” said L&A OPP Staff Sgt. Insp. Scott Semple. “We will leave no stone unturned in our investigations and we are going to go after those responsible for selling illegal narcotics in our community.”
Thursday’s drug warrant was the second executed on Dundas Street this week. In a separate one carried out on July 30 the OPP charged two people after investigators seized a quantity of methamphetamine and money.
Charged contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act was a 42-year-old male and a 39-year-old female.
Both will appear in court on Sept. 17.
“Since January we’ve done over 20 warrants and we’ll continue to take all information, we want to make sure we’re putting away the people that are committing these crimes,” said L&A OPP Const. Shannon Cork. “We understand that addiction is a real issue, we want people that are suffering from addiction to reach out and contact Mental Health and Addictions at 613-354-7388.”
