The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired driving related offences.
On July 17, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers were notified by a neighbouring police service, that a vehicle had been involved in a collision in their jurisdiction and had since fled the area. A short time later, the vehicle was located at an address in Tyendinaga Township. Officers spoke with the driver who was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.
As a result, Rebecca Watson, age 32, of Tyendinaga Township was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Dangerous operation
- Driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
- Drive motor vehicle – no licence
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Aug. 6, 2024.
