Driver charged with multiple offences after traffic stop in Odessa

On March 5 at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers of the Lennox & Addington OPP were conducting general patrols when they observed a motor vehicle driving in an erratic manner on Potter Drive in Odessa. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found the driver to have a suspended licence. The driver made an attempt to flee the scene and was subsequently arrested.

Officers seized a prohibited weapon, as well as several cannabis products.

As a result, L&A County OPP have charged a 29-year-old of Loyalist Township, with:

  • Possession of prohibited device for dangerous purpose
  • Resist peace officer
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Driver fail to properly wear seatbelt
  • Have care or control of vehicle with cannabis in open baggage

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 3, 2022.
