Driver charged with impaired following single vehicle collision on Shannonville Road

On Jan. 18 at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Shannonville Road in Tyendinaga Township. Moments before the collision police had received complaints about an erratic driver that matched that of the vehicle in the collision.

Investigation revealed that the driver lost control and the vehicle came to rest in the northbound ditch on Shannonville Road.  Police determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further processing.

L&A County OPP have charged a 34-year-old of Tweed with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Dangerous Operation of a motor
  • Fail to comply with demand
  • Driving while under suspension contrary

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Feb. 15. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
