Driver charged with impaired after found passed out, blocking intersection

Officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP charged a driver with impaired driving.

On March 13, shortly after 1 p.m., officers from the L&A County OPP received a report of a vehicle that was stopped, blocking the intersection of Dundas Street West and Richmond Park Drive, in Napanee. Reporting that the lone driver of the vehicle was passed out. Police attended the scene and Paramedic Services were already on scene checking the driver. Police arrested the driver for impaired driving.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged William Labelle, age 43, of Deseronto, with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – opioid

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 2, 2024. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
