Napanee’s first ever drag show, Drag Us Out Back, took place over the weekend in the Banquet Hall at Strathcona Paper Centre.

Performing to a packed house of around 90, queens Tyffanie Morgan, JD Merciii, Rowena Whey, Octavia and Holli Cow had the whole crowd cheering after every dance performance.

The evening also included comedy to death drops with Morgan as host of the event.

“There is a desire for pride in Napanee,” Robert Dorey, Organizer of the event expressed to the crowd. “All of us are welcome here, you are going to be seeing that message all around town on banners which are on the way, it will say everyone is welcome here, #proundformanyreasons. We really appreciate your support, the banners were purchased by fundraising through GoFundMe from the community, but even more fantastic is the event here tonight. Drag Us Out Back is an amazing title because it’s dragging Napanee into the present where everyone is welcome and we’re going to make that safe space and it starts here tonight. Thank you to our amazing performers tonight. Greater Napanee Pride here tonight, our board, all of our volunteers thank you so much for your support and energy to make this possible.”
