Downtown traffic lights need rethink

One must wonder what the engineers or whoever who designed the ‘new’ intersection of Centre and Dundas Streets in downtown Napanee were thinking.

It was bad enough when the advance green at Bridge Street was eliminated, but to do the same at Dundas? I mean – it’s hard enough getting around downtown as it is but to make it next to impossible to make a left turn before the through traffic starts moving – sheesh. I got a real chuckle this afternoon as I ‘finally’ made my left turn onto Dundas. Have you seen the handicapped parking spot in front of the Bank of Montreal? If there was a large pickup in the second spot one would have difficulty parking a Smart Car in that tiny handicapped one — heck, more likely a motorized wheelchair or scooter but that’s it.

What were you guys thinking?
