Amherst Island’s Topsy Farms will be put in the national spotlight on Nov. 13 when Discovery Channel airs an upcoming episode of Tougher than it Looks?

Filmed earlier this summer, the episode features host Andrew Younghusband attempting to learn the challenges of shearing sheep. Canada’s top sheep shearer Don Metherall provides the host with a quick lesson and then he’s left on his own to see first-hand just how tough the job of sheep shearing can be.

Shooting for the episode took a full day, with cameras set up throughout the farm to capture all the action. Topsy Farms’ biggest ram was even called upon to help capture some footage as the film crew strapped a GoPro camera to its back for some unique angles.

The episode is set to air at 11:30 p.m.

Topsy Farms is a family-owned farm which specializes in ethically produced 100 per cent pure wool products.

Tougher than it Looks?, which is in its second season, attempts to answer the question as to how tough are some of the toughest, oddest and most dangerous jobs on the planet. In each episode Younghusband is given minimal training by an expert before he attempts to take on the job by himself.
