Crunch close out regular season and gear up for playoffs this weekend

The Napanee Crunch wrapped up their regular season last weekend and will now get set for the playoffs.

The United Restaurant/Allegiance General Contracting Atom B clinched first place in the LLFHL East Division with a 5-0 win over the Whitby Wolves. Lexa Lazarakos scored a hat trick while Carley Uens and Mickara Cochrane added one each. They followed that game with a 3-1 win over the Bancroft Jets on Sunday.

-Napanee’s Midget BB Crunch shutout the Lindsay Lynx, 2-0.

 –Napanee’s Peewee BBs locked up second place in the East Division after beating the Kingston Ice Wolves, 5-2.

-The Bantam BB Crunch won 4-0 over the Central York Panthers on Friday night. Aleaha Mallette earned the shutout.  

They kept up their winning ways Saturday with a 3-1 win over the Oshawa Lady Generals. Keyra Herrington got the win. Lila Pringle, Hailey Lay and Kristen Sutton scored. They stayed on a roll with a 4-0 triumph over the Central York Panthers on Sunday.  Maeve Kennedy, Hailey Lay, Kailey Brooks and Sutton each had a goal. They then beat the Clarington Flames 1-0 on a goal by Claire McConnell and a shutout by Herrington. They finished the regular season with a 19-1-2 record.

-The Bantam B Crunch tied the Whitby Wolves, 2-2. Stella Sutton scored both goals. Assists went to Nicole Geenevasen and Molly Dafoe.

The next game Napanee won 5-0 over the Durham West Lightning. Goals were scored by Grace Giroux (two), Hailey Bauder (two) and Katie Tye. Assists went to Tye, Natalie Mills, Geenevasen, Karenna Ricketts and Dafoe.

They then tied the first place West Northumberland Wild, 2-2, which moved Napanee into fourth place in the regular season.
