Criminal charges laid after vehicle pulled over going 150 km/h on 401 in Napanee

A Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team officer of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for stunt driving on Hwy 401 in L&A County.

On the 27 of January, shortly after 6 p.m. OPP TIME was conducting speed enforcement on Hwy 401 in the Town of Greater Napanee. A 2023 Porsche Cayenne was observed travelling at 150km/h. A traffic stop was conducted. Cannabis was detected and while searching officers located a knife concealed in the vehicle. All parties were arrested. Police located cannabis as well as five suspected stolen credit cards.

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Cunha-Anastacio Bruno-Alexandre age 27, of Montreal, with:

  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Drive motor vehicle – preform stunt – excessive speed
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Niyonkuru Samputu, age 28, of Montreal with:

  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a credit card
  • Possess – credit card data
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Identity theft – obtain or possess another persons identity information

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Steven Achille, age 27, of Montreal, with:

  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

The vehicle was impounded for 14 days, the driver received a 30 Day Ontario Drivers Licence Suspension. All accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on March 5, 2024.
