Chamber of Commerce seeks input on proposed asphalt plant

Napanee & District Chamber of Commerce is seeking input from local business owners regarding the proposed re-zoning of a permanent hot asphalt plant at 8205 County Road 2.

The chamber is calling on its members to fill out an online survey on the matter. R.W. Tomlinson has expressed their intent to amend a zoning by-law that would allow the company to construct an asphalt plant near the rock cut on the east end of town.

“By communicating the needs of business to all levels of government including the local municipality, we help to influence policies, regulations and decisions that are critical to creating a favourable environment where businesses can succeed and Lennox & Addington can flourish,” says board president Ken Shurtliffe in a release. “By remaining nonpartisan we are able to be due diligent in hearing the feedback so that we can take that information to council on behalf of the business community. We are here to be that collective voice for business.”

The survey will take less than five minutes to complete online. It also prepares individuals with two informational links to presentations from both Tomlinson and the Keep Napanee Great Group. See survey link here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ChamberPlantSurvey.
