Third period woes continued to plague the Deseronto Bulldogs this weekend as they dropped back-to-back games.

At home on Saturday they fell 7-4 to the South Grenville Rangers before losing 5-2 on the road Sunday to the Glengarry Pipers.

In both instances the Bulldogs had battled back to tie the game before allowing three unanswered goals in the final frame to take the loss.

Against the Pipers Brodie Maracle gave the Bulldogs at 1-0 lead midway through the first.

That lead held until the second when Alexis Gaboury-Potvin knotted the game at 1-1. Early in the third the Pipers went ahead courtesy of Tristan Elie.

Ryan Dreossi had an answer for Deseronto to get them right back in the game with 15 minutes to go in regulation.

It would all fall apart just five minutes later however as the Pipes rattled off three goals in just over seven minutes to secure the 5-2 win. Trevor Withers took the loss, finishing with 49 saves.

The previous night at home the Bulldogs rallied from down 4-1 with goals from Cullen Hinds, Evan Foley and Joey Mayer to make it 4-4 after two periods.

It was all Rangers in the third as they found the net three times to pick up the 7-4 victory.

The losses drop the Bulldogs to 2-6 on the season.

The Bulldogs will look to right the ship on Saturday when they welcome the Bytown Royals to the Deseronto Community Arena. Puck drop is 6:30 p.m. The Royals have had their struggles as well this season, coming in at 2-9 on the season, though they have won their last two games.
