The Deseronto Bulldogs have swung an early season trade, sending forward Chris Atanas to the Gananoque Islanders in exchange for forward Cameron Yuill.
A former Wellington Duke and UOIT Ridgeback, Yuill was yet to suit up for the Islanders this year. The 30-year-old, who wore a ‘C’ with the Ridgebacks, had seven goals and 16 assists in 28 games in his final season of USports in 2016-17. His biggest offensive output came in the 2011-12 season with the Dukes, when he scored 13 goals with 24 assists. He’s a native of Wellington.
Headed to Gananoque is Atanas, who had a goal and an assist in two games played with the Bulldogs this year. The 24-year-old is a native of Newmarket.
After a week off the Bulldogs are set to return to action Saturday for their home opener, 6:30 p.m. at the Deseronto Community Rec Centre where they’ll take on the West Carlton Rivermen.
