Following another strong season on the rugby pitch, Napanee’s Britt Benn has been named a finalist for Rugby Canada’s Women’s Sevens Player of the Year.
Benn helped the Canadian sevens team to a third place finish in the HSBC Sevens Series in 2017, earning a selection to the tournament’s dream team in the process.
She finished the season with 20 tries, which was 12th most in the series and fifth best among Canadians.
The 2016 Olympic bronze medalist is now among the final four nominees up for the Women’s Sevens Player of the Year, which is awarded based on fan votes. Votes can be cast by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PlayerVoting2017. Voting closes on Dec. 17.
