Hastings, Lennox and Addington MP Mike Bossio is inviting organizational leaders to take part in a workshop to help put together a proposal for funding from the New Horizons for Seniors Program.

Held on June 4 at Lennox and Addington Seniors Outreach Services from 10 a.m. to noon, the information session will offer tips on how to create a successful application, with eligible organizations able to receive up to $25,000 in project funding.

“This program has a big impact in rural ridings like ours, whether it’s for churches, community centres, curling clubs, and so much more,” Bossio said in a release. “I encourage organizations to submit projects led or inspired by seniors for the New Horizons for Seniors Program funding. We’ve seen from previous years how beneficial these projects are for empowering seniors, enabling them to pursue an active lifestyle, and expanding their social network, all of which contributes to the sustainability of our rural communities.”

The application deadline is June 15. The projects must benefit the vulnerable senior population, focus on the diversity of Canada’s seniors and promote volunteerism.

Those interested in coming to the workshops are asked to contact Bossio’s constituency office toll free 1-866-471-3800 or RSVP at his event postings at www.mikebossiomp.ca.

Seniors Outreach Services is located at 12 Richmond Park Drive in Napanee.
