A much-anticipated Christmas tradition will return to Bath Public School on Nov. 19 when they host their annual Holiday Bazaar.

Back for the first time since the pandemic, the event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. throughout the school.

“We have over 80 vendor spaces,” said Jacqueline Cote, a member of the School Advisory Committee along with being one of the event organizers. “It’s crafters and artisans. We have a silent auction raffle, all those vendors donate something and then we get a ton of donations from businesses from all over the place. There’s thousands of dollars of prizes to be won at the silent auction and raffle. Kids can decorate cookies and make crafts and we have a café serving lunch and drinks and a huge bake sale.”

A Christmas-themed holiday backdrop will also be displayed at the event for anyone looking to purchase family photos-though this year Santa won’t be present to be in the photos as he has been in previous years.

The roots of the fundraising holiday bazaar can be traced back to Sandhurst Public School and the tradition has carried on even after the school was closed, shifting now to Bath Public School. The most recent event raised over $8,000 for the school.

“That pays for field trips and bussing, guest speakers or sports equipment or tech that we’ve bought over the years,” said Cote.

Variety will be found up and down the school hallways, as organizers make sure to bring in a wide assortment of vendors. A list of those participating in the event can be found at the 2022 Bath Holiday Bazaar Facebook event page. Admission is $1 or a non-perishable food item and free for anyone under the age of 12.

Also taking place on Nov. 19, just across the street from the school, will be the Holiday Collective Market, which will be housed at St. John’s Church Hall. Between the two events there will be over 125 vendors to help shoppers get a start on their holiday list.
