Bantam Express 6-1 with one left to play before playoffs at U16 Canadians

Connor Brooks drove in three while Dylan Hehn pitched seven innings of three run ball to lead the Napanee U16 Bantam Express to a 7-3 win over the East Hants Mastodons in Friday’s afternoon action at the Men’s Fast Pitch U16 Canadian Championship in Innerkip.

The win moved Napanee to a 6-1 record heading into their final round robin game, which takes place today at 4:30 p.m. against Tavistock.

Through their first seven games Brooks and Rob Barker lead the team with eight RBI. Barker has the team high in hits with 12 while Brock Fencott has 10. Brooks and Fencott each have one home run as well. Fencott, Kody McLaughlin and Barker have each swiped three bases.

From the pitcher’s circle Brooks is 3-0 with a flawless 0.00 ERA in 19.2 innings. Fencott is 2-0 with a 2.10 ERA and Hahn is 1-0 with a 4.61 ERA.

The playoffs will begin tomorrow.
