Atura Power Community Development Fund applications now open

The following is a press release from the Town of Greater Napanee:

Eligible applicants have opportunities to receive financial support through the Atura Power Community Development Fund to assist with community projects.

The Atura Power Community Development Fund positively impacts the Greater Napanee community by providing financial support to community stakeholders. Funding criteria has been amended to include funding for COVID-19 recovery. Applicants that are eligible to receive funding include:

• Community groups located within the boundaries of Greater Napanee;

• Independent local initiatives that align with the fund’s criteria.

The Atura Power Community Development Fund has been built into the Greater Napanee – Atura Power Host Agreement and is a wonderful opportunity for eligible community groups in Greater Napanee as it provides $2 million over 20 years (beginning in 2014) to help fund community projects.

“My Council and I are very pleased that Atura Power is honouring the commitment to our community regarding this important development fund,” says Greater Napanee mayor Marg Isbester. “This is a true sign of Atura’s commitment to being a strong community partner. The ability of local groups and organizations to access funding has never been so important, as we try to reverse the local economic and service impacts of COVID-19.”

Bruce Wick, Plant Manager of Napanee Generating Station, endeavours to ensure that Atura is a positive addition to the Greater Napanee community.

Bruce states, “Atura strives to be a strong local partner by contributing to the well-being of the communities where we live, work and play. Atura is pleased to partner with the Town of Greater Napanee to identify and support worthy projects that will make a sustainable, positive impact to the community.”
