The Napanee Joyce’s Meat and Deli Atom BB Stars made it 18 wins in a row, with five games left in league play as they dominated Gananoque 7-2 on the road. They also learned that they were invited to play in the Silver Stick Finals in Sarnia in early in 2019.
-The Peewee BB Stars had their win streak stopped at 16 after a strong Frontenac Flyers squad defeated them 4-2 on Sunday. The Stars got an early lead thanks to a solo rush by Jayden Holden just 28 seconds in. Exactly two minutes later, Zered Haller added to the Stars’ total. The second period was all Flyers however as the guests tallied three times and added another to start the third period. Nic Campeau had a hat trick in their 5-2 win in Wellington one day earlier.
-With only two games left in the regular season, the Peewee AEs played a home-and-home with Gananoque and earned a split. Saturday they lost 8-2 at the Strathcona Paper Centre, but Sunday in Gananoque, they avenged their loss with a 5-2 triumph.
-The Atom AEs had another tough weekend losing 7-0 in Picadilly, and then they were shut out at home 8-0 by Gananoque.
-The Novice BBs lost on Saturday 5-2 at the W.J. Henderson Arena facing Loyalist. In a tight match on Sunday, the locals were upended 3-2 by Centre Hastings. Dawson Chalk scored twice to build up an early lead, but they could not maintain that success giving up three. Mason Whalen, Keagan York and Jadon McKee were credited with assists.
-The Napanee Exit Realty Acceleration Bantams topped Tweed AEs 5-2, putting in a solid performance. They led throughout on goals by Carter McKee, Ethan Martin, Owen Gibson, Marshall Maracle and Zac Slaven. Ryan Aldridge was solid between the posts. Sunday they won convincingly 10-0 in Bancroft.
-The Midget Stars outscored Norwood on the road by a 5-4 score, and returned home Saturday to win 8-1 facing Centre Hastings in a penalty filled contest. The boys never trailed, frustrating their guests to fill the penalty box. Adam Burger, Cal DuChene, Corbin Gibson, Keegan Makpah, and Cadin Holmes all had singles, while Ryan Kirkpatrick had a hat trick.
