Atom BB extend hot streak

The Napanee Atom BB Stars continue to find success in the Eastern Ontario Minor Hockey League with two more wins last weekend.

They shut out Norwood 10-0 on the road, and humbled Ennismore 8-1 at the SPC. In the latter game, Carter Slaven had two goals and an assist, Mason Goodfellow and Kohen Cutler each had a pair, while Blake Wood and Matthew Airhart contributed singles.

* The Peewee BBs also maintained their perfect record, (11-0-0) with a 5-1 win in Brighton, an 8-2 defeat of Centre Hastings in Madoc and a 16-2 home win over Gananoque. At the SPC on Sunday, a balanced, dominant offence saw eight players find the back of the net for the locals.

* The Joyce’s Meats Atom AE squad managed a point in weekend games, with a tough 8-0 loss to Prince Edward County in Wellington and a hard fought 3-3 tie with Norwood at the SPC. At home, they held leads during much of the game, but with 5:56 left, Norwood evened things at three. Wyatt Albright, Sam McCaw, and Scott Scrimshaw scored with assists added by Drew Osborne, Ben Szuch, and Albright.

* The Napanee Calderwood Automation Peewee AEs faced a dominant Ennismore squad to fall 13-3. They led briefly on a goal by Nic Lamarche.  Jayden Holden added a pair for the locals.

* The Bantam BBs ran their win streak to three in a solid 3-1 win over Campbellford on Saturday at the SPC.

* The Midget BB Stars earned five of six points over the weekend with two wins and a tie. Friday in Madoc they tied Centre Hastings 3-3. At the SPC on Saturday they got goals from Seth Barton, Ryan Kirkpatrick and Spencer Chatterton in a solid 3-1 win over Loyalist.

Sunday, facing Ennismore’s AE squad, they dominated 8-1. Barton led the scoring with two with Liam Wilkinson, Ryan Kirkpatrick, Nate Brant, Cal DuChene, Eli Brown and Chatteron also making the score sheet.

* The Novice AFW Construction BB Stars earned a hard fought 6-4 win over Campbellford on Sunday. Trailing at times, they never quit. Keagan York took a pass from Wesley Davey for the first tally by the locals. Wyatt Whalen netted an unassisted marker. Camden Arthur, on a fine individual effort, picked up a puck at his own blue line and eluded opponents to tie the score at three. York got his second tally of the game and William Babcock’s shot just inside the post proved to be the winner. Cooper Seaton’s high shot stretched the twine as an insurance goal.

Napanee Crunch

* The AFW Construction Novice BB Crunch split their games this weekend, dropping a 6-3 game on Saturday to Ennismore before rebounding for a 6-4 win over Campbellford.
