OPP say a suspect is in custody following a hunt for a man described as armed and dangerous.
There is no longer a threat to public safety.
Around 7:30 p.m. an alert was sent out warning of a serious incident in the area of Bath Road and County Road 4 in Loyalist Township. People were advised to remain clear of the area and Bath Road was closed to traffic.
Around 8 p.m. police tweeted they were searching for an armed and dangerous male in the Millhaven area, believed to be on foot near Hwy 33. Residents were encouraged to stay in their homes with doors locked. A large police presence was noted in the area.
Shortly after 8 p.m. police tweeted a suspect was taken into custody and there was no further risk to public safety. An official media release is expected Friday morning.
