All candidates meeting set for Oct. 3 in Napanee

Beaver Staff

Candidates in the Hastings-Lennox and Addington County riding will have a chance to make their pitch to voters on Oct. 3 during an all-candidates meeting at the Napanee Lions Hall.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a meet and greet with the meeting getting underway at 6:30 p.m.

During that time the candidates will have an opportunity to outline their platforms and answer questions.

The event is being held in conjunction with the Napanee and District Chamber of Commerce, Greater Napanee Ratepayers Association and Napanee Lions Club.

All five registered candidates have been invited- Mike Bossio (Liberals), Derek Sloan (Conservatives), Sari Watson (Green), David Tough (NDP) and Adam Gray (People’s Party of Canada).

Prior to that evening’s meeting, the candidates will have the opportunity to speak to high school students at Napanee District Secondary School in a similar style meeting.

Anyone who wishes to submit a question to the candidates can do so prior to the Oct. 3 meeting to BusinessManager@NapaneeChamber.ca. Not all questions are guaranteed to be asked as a limit of seven will be asked during the meeting due to time constraints. Each candidate will have an opportunity to answer.

Last year’s municipale election meeting held a record number of people in attendance, so organizers encourage early arrival for anyone interested in attending.

The federal election will take place Oct. 21.
