A closed border should mean a closed border

I was just watching a news story out of Vancouver where a U.S. family was fined and escorted out of the country for overstaying their welcome.

I think the border authorities and police should be a little more diligent here in Ontario as well. I work in a 24-hour gas bar on the 401 on weekends and am amazed by the number of New York and other US plates I see on any given weekend. I thought only essential travel was allowed but this does not include travel trailers or families with young children. You can bet that these folks are not going to self-isolate for 14 days when they get back, either.

Why does a closed border not mean just that – a closed border, as in – You don’t need to be coming here so please turn around and leave.
