The family of the late Simon “Dale” Desveaux

The family of the late Simon “Dale” Desveaux wish to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to extended family, friends, neighbours, business associates, colleagues, customers, tenants and our wonderful community following the sudden loss of our cherished, devoted and loving husband, Dad and Grandpa. You collectively shared our sorrow, while providing comfort and support. The amazing turnout during his visitation, Funeral Mass and reception was a testament to the man he was. We respectfully thank Father Mark Chockrek for leading visitation prayers and Mass of the Christian Burial as well as his personal tribute. Thank you to those who sent floral tributes, cards, messages, charitable donations and Mass Offerings. We also appreciated (and enjoyed) food dropped off as well as many other random acts of kindness. Our family is continually impressed with the level of professional, yet personalized service provided by the staff of Wartman Funeral Home, as well as their added “drive-by” honour to Dale – one final time past Dale’s Transmission. We were touched by the Honour Guard onsite. Dale would have been proud to have immediate family and Shane Irvine – his loyal and trusted employee, walk along side him as Pallbearers. He would also be humbled by those who participated, sang or spoke at the Church and reception at Strathcona Paper Centre. Heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Chris Sosnowski (Dale’s friend and teammate), Dr. David Zelt and staff for providing care and comfort over the years, as well as the surgical team and staff at Toronto General Hospital. While our hearts are broken following this incredible loss, they are also full. Dale always counted his blessings, yet we were truly blessed to have him in our lives. Family , friends, business and community were extremely important to him. He loved – and was loved – We will cherish him in our hearts and minds forever.

Sincerely – Cheryl, Scott and Patti (George and June), Laura and Matt (Cameron and Noah), Ryan, Tiffany and Corey.
