Returning after a more than 20 year hiatus, the Greater Napanee and Area Arts Association (GNAAA) is sponsoring a county-wide studio tour.
Running Sept. 9-10, from Amherst Island in the south to Griffith in the north, all artists in Lennox & Addington, and outside guest artists, are invited to join the adventure.
“We’ve dreamed of having our own studio tour again and this year the GNAAA board has decided that 2023 is the year of its revival,” declares Gerry Hogaboam, GNAAA President.
Michelle Hutchinson, L&A Studio Tour Chair goes on to explain, “what makes it possible, is the generous financial support of the County through its Naturally L&A Activation Fund.”
Now organizers are reaching out to artists specializing in original artworks in every media to be part of the tour and welcome artists at any stage of their creative journey. To enrich the studio tour experience for visitors, they are encouraging artists to sell their prints, cards, calendars, and books.
“Many artists have been looking for new places to showcase their artworks after creating inventories during the COVID lockdowns” says Hutchinson. “And we’re hoping that a studio tour will have wide appeal.”
To sweeten the offer, there is an Early Bird deadline of Feb. 26 that saves the $25 jurying fee. Also, there’s an absolute deadline for applications of March 12.
